ABOUT
The possibilities of creative effort connected with the subconscious mind are stupendous and imponderable. They inspire one with awe.”

Mixed Media Artist
Color captivated artist Mike Adamo at an early age. At church, he'd gaze at the stained glass windows, mesmerized by their beauty. He knew then he wanted to be an artist and work with colors that rich and inspiring.
Never bound by limitations, Adamo started experimenting with everything from traditional materials (acrylic, encaustic, epoxy, enamel, copper and wood) to experimental (metal BB's and glass microbeads). Defined as a true mixed media artist, he is entirely self-taught.
According to Adamo, his contemporary abstract pieces are born from "a dreamlike state I fall into when taking a spark of inspiration, then 'bringing it to a blazing fire' until the work is complete." His work has been described as vivid, surreal and thought provoking.
Represented through the Albert Joseph Gallery in New Jersey and The New York Design Center in New York City, his work can also be viewed on 1stdibs and incollect. He is open to collaborations and commissions.
Notable pieces include "African America" previously on display at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in New York City. His recent piece "Life is Priceless" is dedicated to chef and author Anthony Bourdain. Proceeds of the sale will go toward Suicide Awareness.
